WattTool 0.92

WattTool is a small tool designed to control the voltages and frequencies of AMD video cards. In particular, it is used for the RX series GPUs and contains ready-made configuration profiles for the RX 570, RX 580, RX 470 and RX 480 models. The program is designed primarily for miners. The application is suitable for monitoring the current state of the GPU, as well as for changing the rotation speed of coolers and the supplied voltage. Very often it is used for downvolt.

This allows you to slightly reduce energy costs and the load on the power supply. The average user is unlikely to find these features useful, but owners of mining farms will find them very useful. Reducing the supplied voltage has a rather weak effect on the volume of mined cryptocurrency, but at the same time helps to increase the overall profitability, the degree of heating of the cards and, as a result, their service life.

Proper use of WattTool:

  • Download the program
  • Overclock your video card
  1. Measure power consumption and hashrate in common metrics.
  2. Measure power consumption and hashrate by modifying the BIOS.
  3. Select the desired core frequency. The value also needs to be reduced gradually. This will reduce energy consumption. The step is 50 hashes.
  4. Overclock the card using video memory. Raise the values gradually. First you need to set Power Target = 50. Target Temp. set it to 65.
  5. Reduce mV consumption. It’s worth starting with 1000-1050 mV.
  • Select effective parameters

Repeat the search for the desired frequencies until the values reach the most effective ones. At the same time, watch out for drawdowns in hashrate. The farm must operate stably. When you are satisfied with the indicators, click the “Set” button.

Peculiarities:

  • Adjustment of memory and core frequencies of AMD graphics adapters;
  • Ready-made profiles for graphic cards of the RX model series;
  • Increasing and decreasing the voltage supplied to the GPU;
  • Control over cooler rotation speed;
  • Operation in portable mode;
  • Pragmatic appearance.

Known Issues:

  • If you receive the error message “Mutex creation failed!“, you must run WattTool as an administrator. This is caused by other monitoring software (such as GPU-Z or HWiNFO) already running with administrative rights and owning the synchronization mutex. You can run WattTool as a normal user if you close these tools first (and restart them after WattTool).
  • There is one report that access to I2C is not working for some (all?) XFX cards.< /li>
